The prescription drug fluvoxamine, which is marketed under the name Luvox, is mostly used to treat anxiety-related disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). It is a member of the class of drugs known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), which promote mental stability and lessen repetitive thoughts and behaviors by reestablishing the proper balance of serotonin in the brain.
